In addition to being one of the largest national human services organizations, Volunteers of America is an interdenominational church – a church with a distinctive ministry of service.
Known as a church without wall, Volunteers of America Michigan’s Ministry of Service provides hope and love through ministry support for all those we serve. We lead with love, faith, and service, shaping a better future for the neighbor in need, their family, and their community. We are committed to embracing and serving all people regardless of differences in culture, denomination, ethnicity, political affiliation, race, gender or sexual identity or socioeconomic status.

Ministry Vision
To illustrate the presence of God through all that we do. Our Ministry of Service focuses on providing a haven in which everyone has the potential to grow and find a purpose-filled life. Through our programs, we work to benefit our vulnerable population of seniors, veterans and family as well as having a great impact by inspiring our staff to be led by the Spirit.

How YOU Can Help Those in Need
Constituent Member: Constituent members are volunteers who have been continuously and actively engaged with Volunteers of America for at least two years and are seeking to deepen their connection to our ministry.
Constituent Minister: Constituent ministers have been constituent members for at least two years and have applied for and been trained in ministry. Constituent members can be volunteers or former employees who remain active in the ministry.
